Youth Jobs Which Build Up Society

Strandrydding-225.png

Miljøvegviser is our response to one of the greatest challenges we face: that far too many young people are fall outside of the education system and employment.

Nav recently reported that over 114,000 young people between the ages of 20 and 29 are outside the workforce - 16.2 percent of the age group. This is a societal problem that carries a high cost, both for the individual and for society.

We know that young people want to contribute, and can contribute - they just need the opportunity.

Miljøvegviser is a practical and socially inclusive summer job initiative in Northern Norway. Through work, training, and community, young people gain meaningful summer employment that strengthens mastery, environmental awareness, and local communities.

For many participants, this is their first encounter with working life.
A summer job provides more than a paycheck - it offers work experience, builds networks, and creates confidence in one's own abilities.

1

How does it work?
Youth receive two weeks of paid work, 4.5 hours per day.

2

Tasks

4

Training

Everyone receives training in environment, safety, and teamwork.

Early experience with working life and responsibility gives young people increased independence, social belonging, and better conditions for completing school and participating in further work or education.
Miljøvegviser helps prevent social exclusion, strengthen participation, and build inclusive local communities.

Through two weeks of paid work, practice, learning, and community are combined.
Youth gain experience with cooperation and communication, while also experiencing the value of contributing to something larger than themselves.

Why Miljøvegviser?

Summer jobs have disappeared in many local communities. We are getting them back.

Youth gain their first CV, reference, and work experience — the ticket into working life.

We are reversing the trend of social exclusion and showing that young people are a valuable resource.

We build up local engagement, pride, and community.

Sustainability ans Inclusion

Our project builds on social values and local sustainability - and gives youth real opportunities to participate, learn, and succeed, regardless of background, financial situation, or place of residence.

Miljøvegviser is anchored in UN Sustainability Goals 3, 4, 8, 11, 14. We connect health, employment, education, and local community development with environmental protection and inclusion. The project supports the EU initiative "Youth Jobs for Building Communities".
