Nature and Regeneration

We build bridges between the North and the world
through Erasmus+, Arctic 2030, and academic partnerships.

In this program area, Our Ocean Foundation works with regenerative development - where nature, community, and human growth are interconnected.

What’s the problem?
Young people and adults are falling outside work, education, and community. At the same time, we waste food, lose our connection to nature, and lack vibrant meeting places.

What do we do about it?
We create a community centered around job training, cultivation, food, ceramics, and skill learning - out by the open sea.
We save food. We cultivate soil. We build up people.

Grow(th)lab is Our Ocean Foundation’s year-round arena for regenerative learning, work training, and nature connection. It is a place for people who need new roots, a new direction - or simply more soil under their fingernails.

We are not a system. We are not a program.
We are people - who believe that everyone needs a place to belong, something meaningful to do, and someone to do it with.
We believe in the Earth, rhythm, and life in our own hands.
In seeing people flourish when they are outdoors, doing something meaningful, and feeling that they are needed.

“In Grow(th)lab, participants are encouraged to try, fail, create, and experience a sense of mastery at their own pace. Learning takes place through hands-on tasks and nature-based work: cultivation, cooking, ceramics, crafts, animal care, work training, repair, and community activities. We cultivate people, community, and vitality.

We also offer alternative learning programs and flexible training for youth who, for various reasons, are outside upper secondary education. Young people between 16 and 24 are given the opportunity to develop at their own pace through practical activities, work experience, and guidance that can lay the foundation for further education, vocational certificates, or university entrance qualifications.

We believe in learning that creates meaning, skill development, and courage - and in the idea that everyone has something within them that can grow.
Grow(th)lab is our method for regenerative learning and community - a living learning space where people and soil can breathe, try, and grow.
